Affiliations?

We are a non-denominational, Spirit-filled Christian body with a unique emphasis on two timeless, yet historical 

testimonials of the Christian faith:    Firstly, we emphasize the need for a return to

a Protestant- Reformed Grace,  meaning, a return to the very essence of freedom to  live the Christian life without the burden of the

Law.  Secondly, we emphasize a Charismatic atmostphere in the Holy Spirit,  meaning, we worship with no inhibition,

shame, or reservation.   We allow the freedom to express ourselves to our King and Savior and know that the worship of God 

can only  enrich our lives for His name sake. 

Our Congregation? 

is a  friendly group who would love to get to know you!  By the way, we love kids and

keep them as a high priority in our overall development and growth.   

Our Worship Music?

Contemporary worship styles are nothing new in the Church these days.  Many main-line ministries have long-left the old music styles of

yesteryear for a fresh wind of the Holy Spirit in our generation today.  We believe in that!

With that change came a freedom to express love and adoration to God only rarely seen in Christian circles by those of a hungry heart.  Rarely seen

because of all the traditional mores' and boundaries of fear. 

Our emphasis is not so much about the music itself but more so about an environment to worship God without inhibition, shame, or reservation.

In other words a true "spirit-filled" environment.  Yet our music is live and up to date with contemporary genres from the latest in Christian worship.

Our Shepherd? and more!  

Pastor Gibson  is a degreed and ordained minister of the gospel with over 28 years of ministry experience, ten of which

in the office of senior Pastor.  His lovely wife Christina is his partner and best friend in the gospel of grace and

adds so much to his effectiveness in the overall body of Christ.   They have seven children, all living at home along with one son residing in

Boerne Texas. 

His Eldership-team is a qualified trio of ministry-servants, all venterans in the gospel of grace and in the Charismatic

move of the Holy Spirit.      

Mission Statement? 

Three things:  We love to win the "lost" for Christ-sake as we preach the good news to this

fallen world through evangelistic outreach and other venues.  Secondly, we love to disciple the

"saved," by helping them to fall in love with their savior and king.  And lastly, we love to see the broken-hearted

healed as we share His unconditional love and grace. 

Abused?

If you've been"spiritually abused" by rigid or legalistic forms of Christianity all in the name of "holiness," we here at 

Sweet River Church will allow Christ to bind-up your broken heart and the seeds of

spiritual-insecurity that are so prevalent in today's Church.  Spiritual abuse is surely a taboo subject in the body of Christ

but we are not afraid to address it here at Sweet River Church.  Allow us to escort you back to 

Calvary's cross of Reformed Grace.  

We're in the zone!... the legalism-free zone of Grace!
